This is a runthrough of Hitman Blood Money on the pro difficulty level, getting silent assassin, retrieving the suit and using as few bullets as possible. This is mission six – You Better Watch Out, set in the Rocky Mountains in a porn king’s mansion and being in that type of mansion we have scantily clad girls running about and good scenery. The targets that we need to take out for this mission are the Porn King himself, Chad Bingham who is in the Jacuzzi there and we also have to steal a video tape which the Porn King is using to implicate Chad Bingham.
To begin with I ran towards the lift which is the only way off the pier and I ran behind a guard mainly to hit button and for a bit of speed but also because there is a security camera overlooking the lift and if you saunter around and wait in front of the lift you’ll get caught on camera. I’ve run up here and I’m just gonna blitz through this entire section it- the mansion is massive and there are loads of these little back passages and different rooms and rooms which look the same as each other but I know my way through this level backward which is a bit unfortunate. The eagle-eyed amongst you will notice that I have the rifle case as well. This is the first time that I’ll use a bullet in this run through and it’s only one of maybe two bullets that I’m going to us.
Did a little pan around of the scenery there because it’s an absolutely gorgeous level and those who know me will know that I just adore Hitman snow levels; so there was the St. Petersburg one in Hitman two and the Arctic one in Contracts. What I’m doing here- all this is in aid of getting the one and only uniform I will use for this level which is a top-tier guard uniform, and to do this I’m breaking a utility box which will draw out one of the guards. The problem with this area and what I found with previous run throughs is this first section is where all my mistakes were made because this glass door has three, maybe even four, different guards all cycling through and their timings aren’t the same for each level so it’s a bit of pot luck to try and get the guards, sort of, standing about as they should. For instance the one that’s currently standing behind that glass door is blind as a bat and I could be arming a nuclear weapon and he wouldn’t see me. But I’ve sedated the guard and I’m going to drag him round to this container where I’ve left the rifle case; now I’ve left the rifle case there which is because I’m going to use it here and here only so I don’t need to drag it around the level but I’ve got a uniform now and as I said before: it’s top tier, there’s also a different type of guard uniform which is the, sort of, public facing guards who are in the red chirstmassy outfit. There is no applicable difference between them, you can go in the same places and the same people will give you grief.
I’m leaving Chad Bingham ‘til last because he’s a bit of a tricky character to kill so I’m, uh, doing the Porn King first. And, I’m just gonna miss this door slightly because I had a bit of brain spasm, and I’m coming into the kitchen to poison and retrieve a sausage. The reason for this is because the Porn King has a small, yapper-type dog following him around which yaps at you and can break your cover. The other reason that I’m poisoning the sausage and not sedating it is, and I’m gonna say this as slowly as possible so you don’t think I’m mad, the dog counts as a witness. No simpler way of saying it than that. If you leave the dog alive and sedated, or just simply alive, you will get a witness at the end versus killing the dog and you don’t get a witness. And, I abhor animal cruelty in all forms but as I’ve said before, this is a computer game.
What I did there was a prime example of guard cycling and I think it’s the one point where I actually started learning how to do it. In that room you need to pick a lock to get into this area here and to do that you need to only have one guard in the room and he needs to be in a certain position and he cycles between two points within the room, whereas the other guard cycles between being in the room and being outside. As I walked past the first guard he then cycled to going out of the room which is what I wanted and as I walked past the second guard he went to his second point which was facing away from me. So I could then pick the lock with impunity and I’m up into this area.
That section there is where I got the video tape, as in the mission objective video tape. It’s not too difficult to get once you know it’s there but actually finding it was an absolute nightmare because it doesn’t stand out at all and you have to be careful when picking up the tape because in that room a lot of people criss-cross in and out like guards and the porn king himself. So they can catch you slipping the video tape into your suit which is, uh, the death knell for this mission. The- I’ve thrown the sausage to the dog here and its eaten it, gone a bit mental and, uh, he’s now dead because the Porn King was on the balcony which is where I wanted him, but he was coming off the balcony so he’s now gone through to his studio where one of his smutty films is being filmed. So I’m- what I’m doing now is I’m- I’m cycling the Porn King to go back up to the, uh, balcony and I said in my first run through about guard cycling that you can’t do it with the target and as a rule that’s true but I found with the Porn King you can do it to him so I’m doing it for speeds sake.
Once he’s on the balcony I’m going to push him off and tip him over which counts as an accident kill which is what I wanted however before that happens- killing the dog where I did was perhaps a bad move, I should have probably stayed where I was and then just waited until he’d gone because when the Porn King comes in he also brings in one- one of his guards in and they find the dog. That doesn’t count as a body being found even though they both look at the body so the dog’s this weird hybrid of guard, witness and non-body. Anyway, because the guard was there I was planning on fibre wiring the Porn King, but the guard being there extended his puny existence for a further thirty seconds so he now goes over to the balcony, magics a cigarette out of nowhere and I push him off the balcony. With him done we can then go and get Chad Bingham.
So to recap: got the video tape and I’ve killed the Porn King. The story behind this obviously implicates the father of Chad Bingham because the father is a well-noted politician aiming for the Whitehouse, another American President tie in there, um, and obviously wants Hitman to get rid of his philandering son and also to get rid of the video tape and the person who’s implicating him. When the mission starts, on the loading screen, there is also a blacked out, uh, portrait of somebody with a question mark on it and I thought that was going to be a target that appeared during the game, as in when you’re playing the level Diana maybe updates you. However it’s actually a second assassin that’s been sent to kill you, Mr 47. I didn’t notice this on my first play through because I always aim for the silent assassin rank, but if you noticed right at the beginning when I ran through a pink corridor with Chinese symbols on it and you’ll see it when I run back through it, there was an old crusty man kissing a busty, dominatrix type figure and she’s the assassin. If you’re noisy during the level, as in you shoot people and generally get a bit of attention to you I believe she comes and tries to kill you; whereas if you just walk by her when the person isn’t attached to her lips, you- she actually beckons you in to a room and you can find one of the strippers, or “models”, that she’s killed to get her uniform which is what Hitman does.
So what I’m doing now is I’ve got the, uh, rifle case and I’m just constructing the, uh, rifle because Chad Bingham is in a glass-bottomed Jacuzzi and already you can see where this is going and I’m going to shoot out the glass. The feet that I indicate there is of a stripper, or “model”, keep mixing those two up in this situation. I don’t, uh, watch the bodies fall because that’s just sick but also because need to get out of this area tut suite and the reason that I used the sniper rifle when I was in the guard uniform and then switch to being in my normal hitman uniform is because if anybody saw me, and more than likely somebody’s going to come to that area, they would have seen an FBI disguise rather than my hitman disguise, well, my hitman suit.
I’ve panned the camera down to show the bodies there and that little picture-in-picture demonstrated it, but all but one of the bodies fall out of visible range of everybody but one will always fall on a walkway where somebody will find it. That means your attention meter goes up to yellow but because they’re accident kills it doesn’t particularly matter. That was the pink corridor where you saw the second assassin in at the start and a couple of people there tried to shoo me away which I ignored because I’m running into an area I’m allowed to be in so in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t reduce my rating all that much. Because the glass bottom of the Jacuzzi is now a few hundred foot drop to below, you can play the sadistic game of see-how-many-people-you-can-push-into-the-hole-before-somebody-finds-you. I believe my limit is seven, but it’s cathartic in a morbid kind of way.
I’m now heading to the escape and because I’m in the hitman uniform I’m all but invisible, but there have been times when I’ve been hanging around and for some bizarre reason people just started shooting at me. As they do. This is one of my favourite levels, as I said, because there’s a lot of different ways of achieving silent assassin and also it just looks gorgeous. One of the other ways that you can get Chad Bingham that I usually do if I wasn’t playing for time is that you can put an aphrodisiac that you get from the bartender in his drink, he then gets a bit randy with one of the models and takes her off to a room, gets a bit violent with her and she leaves, you can then go in the room and fibre wire him or whatever. That’s how I would normally do it and it’s not an accident kill but it seems a bit more poetic.
So that’s one shot fired, five accident kills, time of eleven ten and silent assassin rating.
